The BTEC Level 2 Intermediate award in Breakaway and Self-defence
This course is designed to equip staff with the skills necessary to break away from an aggressive situation where the defusing and de-escalation techniques have failed and they are faced with the real threat of physical assault.
It is a practical course requiring active participation from course delegates. The course is presented in an informal manner so that delegates can relax and enjoy the learning experience.
Delegates will learn the legal framework and physical skills necessary to enable them to provide an effective defence against a physical assault whilst at work.
This is a nationally recognised vocational qualification.
The BTEC Level 2 Intermediate award in Breakaway and Self-defence is a one day duration course and on completion all delegates will receive a level 2 Intermediate award in breakaway and self-defence certification.
To successfully achieve the award delegates will be required to:
- Understand the law in relation to the use of physical force for personal defence of self or others;
- Demonstrate the appropriate and effective physical skills for the purpose of breaking away and defending against a violent attack.
All training is given by National Federation for Personal Safety (NFPS Ltd) qualified trainers.
